U.S. National Debt:

Crapo Postpones Town Hall Meeting Tonight

Senator in urgent debt and deficit negotiations

Washington, DC - Due to an unavoidable scheduling conflict regarding his work on the nation's debt and deficit crisis, Senator Mike Crapo is regrettably cancelling his iTownhall forum scheduled for tonight, July 13 th,  at 7:00 p.m. Mountain Time/6:00 p.m. Pacific Time.  Crapo said the town hall meeting will be rescheduled at a time in the near future.

As Congress and the President work around the clock toward an agreement on an increase to the debt ceiling and other fiscal issues, Senator Crapo is similarly involved in bipartisan Senate discussions over the debt ceiling, federal spending and deficit reduction that are now going to go late into the evening.

"The nation is facing an acute fiscal crisis and we must take every opportunity to seek a solution to this urgent situation," Crapo said.  "Unfortunately, the current discussions involving the bipartisan group of Senators I am engaged with will last into the evening and I will need to reschedule the town hall forum I was looking forward to participating in."

Crapo said he deeply appreciates the patience of Idahoans in these difficult times and looks forward to speaking with them at the rescheduled event.  To sign up for future meetings, please visit Senator Crapo's website, http://crapo.senate.gov, and click on the iTownhall icon.  You will be directed to send an e-mail request with your contact information.
