Idaho Students Working In DC For Crapo

Interns come from Priest River, Idaho Falls, Blackfoot

Washington, DC â?? Idaho Senator Mike Crapo has hired four interns to fill positions in his Washington, D.C. office. Summer internships typically run from May through August.The congressional intern program is targeted for college students who are interested in learning more about the federal government and how Congress operates. Selection is made through an application process that includes submitting a cover letter, resume, and references. College credit is worked out on an individual basis with the student's university. â??This internship program is designed to give students a hands-on learning experience about the congressional process,â?? said Crapo. â??These students are a valuable part of our office and this internship helps them understand how government works.â?? Duties include legislative support and research, assisting with constituent response, answering phones, and administrative tasks.Tambi Cork, a 2001 graduate of Priest River Lammana High School, will be a junior at Stanford University in California. She is majoring in psychology, and plans to obtain a Ph.D. and work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Shawn Sant is a third year law student at the University of Idaho in Moscow. He is pursuing a law degree with an international focus and plans to pursue a career in civil service. He is a 1988 graduate of Hanford High School in Richland, Washington.Mark Cornelison will be a senior at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. He will graduate with a double major in International Studies and Spanish in December 2003. He is a 1997 Blackfoot High School graduate and plans to attend law school.Ryan Montgomery from Idaho Falls will be a senior at the University of Rochester in New York. He will graduate with a double major in Religion and Political Science and a minor in Economics.
