Crapo Votes to Confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court

Washington, D.C.--U.S. Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), a member of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, today voted to confirm the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to serve as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.  He issued the following statement after his vote:

“Judge Barrett is preeminently qualified to serve on our nation’s highest court.  She understands the proper role of a judge.  Her majority opinions have been unanimous 95 percent of the time, and she ranks sixth among the 11 active judges of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals on her reported dissent opinions, placing her right in the middle.  This is the record of someone who follows precedent and will interpret the law as it is written.  Judge Amy Coney Barrett is an outstanding nominee, and it is an honor support her confirmation as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.”
