U.S. National Debt:

Crapo Statement on Holocaust Remembrance Day

Washington, D.C.--U.S. Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) issued the following statement in reverence of the 77th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau and International Holocaust Remembrance Day:

“On Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember and honor the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust, as well as the millions of other victims of Nazi hatred programs.

“Unfortunately, anti-Semitic behavior, like the recent hostage situation in Texas and repeated desecration of the Anne Frank Memorial in Idaho, continues to affect and harm many Jewish people here in America and others across the world.  I have consistently and repeatedly condemned hate groups and anti-Semitic attacks as wholly abhorrent.  I have co-sponsored, and the Senate has passed, resolutions unequivocally denouncing anti-Semitic violence and harassment targeting Jewish Americans, and I am an active member of the Senate Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism.

“This work must continue.  Anti-Semitic behavior must never be tolerated, and I remain committed to efforts to further that progress at home and abroad.

“May the memories of those killed in the Holocaust, as well as those killed in other acts of anti-Semitic violence, be a blessing.”
