Crapo Schedules iTownhall Forum for February 15
Telephone town hall will focus on the extension of the payroll-tax cuts and solutions to the federal debt
Washington, D.C. - Idaho Senator Mike Crapo has set his first statewide telephone iTownhall meeting of 2012 for Wednesday, February 15, and is encouraging Idahoans to participate. With Congress debating important issues that will affect all Americans, Crapo is seeking input from Idahoans during next Wednesday's hour-long telephone town hall.
"From the short-term challenges of finding a way to extend the payroll-tax cuts and approve the Keystone XL pipeline, to the long-term debates on comprehensive solutions to our country's federal debt and unemployment, Idahoans need to be involved in the process," Crapo said. "Telephone town halls are no substitute for in-person events in Idaho, but they do provide interested Idahoans the ability to learn more about the issues confronting Washington and the nation and to have their voices heard by those of us that represent their interests in our nation's Capitol."
Interested participants are invited to join Crapo in his iTownhall meeting next Wednesday, February 15, at 6:55 p.m. Mountain Time/5:55 p.m. Pacific. To sign up for the iTownhall meeting, please visit Senator Crapo's website, http://crapo.senate.gov, and click on the iTownhall icon. You will be directed to send an e-mail request with your contact information.
"In order to participate in the meeting, all you need is a telephone, and there is no fee," Crapo said. Participation is voluntary, and listeners are given an opportunity to ask the Senator about topics regarding federal policies or legislation. To ensure participation, it is best to sign up two days prior to the event, at Crapo's Senate website, http://crapo.senate.gov.
Following the call, an audio file (MP3) of the full forum will be posted on the Senator's website. A transcript will be posted at a later date.
