Crapo, Risch Welcome Bangerter, Frasure Appointments to the U.S. Department of Agriculture
Idaho Senators Mike Crapo and Jim Risch today welcomed the appointments of Layne Bangerter and Evan Frasure to serve Idaho as part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). In a USDA announcement, Bangerter has been appointed to serve as State Director for USDA Rural Development in Idaho and Frasure to serve as State Executive Director of USDA’s Farm Service Agency. Both positions are based in Idaho.
“We congratulate Layne and Evan on being appointed to these important positions that will support Idaho’s agricultural economy and rural communities,” said Senators Crapo and Risch. “Layne’s experience and grassroots knowledge of the issues facing Idaho’s rural families has prepared him to focus on the economic development, infrastructure and other opportunities for the women and men who have built their lives in Idaho’s rural communities. With his service to Idaho as a member of the Idaho Legislature, Evan’s knowledge of the challenges and needs from all corners of Idaho will be invaluable as he bridges Idaho’s agriculture community with the resources and mission at USDA.”
Bangerter is a rancher from Melba who served on the staff for Crapo for more than 13 years. He later served as then-candidate Donald Trump’s campaign lead in Idaho. Frasure is a former member of the Idaho Legislature having served in both the Idaho House of Representatives and State Senate representing Pocatello from 1990-2002.
