Crapo Health Awareness Booths Featured On September â??Capitol Watchâ??

Monthly cable program includes footage from Idaho fairs

Washington, DC â?? On the heels of a successful month of health care screenings at state fairs throughout Idaho, Senator Mike Crapo will discuss his Health Awareness Booths this month on â??Capitol Watchâ??. Featuring footage taken at the North and Western Idaho state fairs, the program will air Tuesday, September 14th, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. Mountain/6:00 p.m. Pacific on the public access channel of many Idaho cable television systems. â??Four years ago, I started the Mike Crapo Health Awareness Booth at the Western Idaho Fair,â?? Crapo said. â??Since then, the booth has been expanded to fairs in Filer, Blackfoot and Coeur dâ??Alene. I have partnered with regional medical centers, local nurses and physicians and others in the public, private and non-profit health care field to make these important screening centers a reality. I can personally attest to the importance of health screenings, as my own encounter with prostate cancer came from a similar test done long before physical symptoms had occurred. Catching it early, the doctors were able to perform necessary surgery and give me a clean bill of health. Had I not had the screening, the outcome may have proven much worse. Many others can tell of similar stories not only about prostate cancer, but breast and other cancers as well.â?? â??Capitol Watchâ?? airs in the following cities over the following cable channels: Boise/Nampa/Caldwell 11 Coeur dâ??Alene 19 Idaho City 37 Idaho Falls/Blackfoot 19 Lewiston 13 Moscow 11 Pocatello 22 Twin Falls 60 â??Capitol Watchâ?? airs on the second Tuesday of every month. The program is sponsored by the Idaho Cable Telecommunications Association (ICTA) and local cable systems throughout Idaho. Local cable systems provide access and the channel numbers may vary from month to month. Due to equipment upgrades or scheduling conflicts, the program is not always available on every cable system in the state. # # #
