Crapo: Boise State, Idaho Players Are Champions

Washington, D.C. - Impressive bowl victories by Boise State University and the University of Idaho deserve congratulations and recognition, Idaho Senator Mike Crapo said today following Boise State's Fiesta Bowl victory over TCU last night. Crapo also noted the University of Idaho's victory over Bowling Green in the Humanitarian Bowl December 30th in Boise.

"There is now no doubt that football in Idaho belongs in the national spotlight with impressive bowl victories this season by both Boise State University and the University of Idaho," Crapo said. "Their hard work, driving spirit and teamwork carry them to prominence. I join with thousands of Idahoans who are fans of both teams, and I encourage others throughout the nation to take notice."

"These results show that these teams' planning, execution and just plain guts warrant the attention and adulation that they are receiving," Crapo added. "All Idahoans have their hats off today because of these achievements, and all Americans should understand that Idahoans have the commitment to become champions-an understanding that should be shared with those who make decisions about future rankings and bowl assignments."
