Craig, Crapo Help Create New Congressional Grains Caucus

WASHINGTON, DC â?? Idaho Senators Larry Craig and Mike Crapo today announced they have helped create the bipartisan Congressional Grains Caucus. The purpose of the caucus is to promote the growth and stability of the small grains industry through educational seminars for Members of Congress and their staff with an interest in issues important to the industry.â??It is important that valuable agricultural industries have a group ready to work with them on the typically numerous and complex issues they face on a daily basis,â?? said Craig. â??I'm pleased to join this Caucus to provide a focal point to our Idaho grain producers so we can continue to assist them with their legislative priorities and work as advocates with our colleagues and the Administration.â??â??There is added strength when people join together to take action or educate others regarding any issue,â?? said Senator Crapo. â??I am pleased to be a part of the Congressional Grains Caucus that will bring Members of Congress together to focus on issues affecting the grain industry.â??Idaho is the 7th largest wheat producing state and the 3rd largest barley producing state in the nation.More information on Idahoâ??s grain industry is available at www.idahograin.org.Please visit our websites, http://craig.senate.gov and http://crapo.senate.gov to learn more about what we are doing for Idaho agriculture.[30]
