Washington, D.C.—U.S. Senate Finance Committee Chairman Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) today announced the following staff updates:
Mary Kate Carter, International Trade Policy Advisor
Mary Kate rejoins the Committee from Lot Sixteen, where she co-led the firm’s trade practice as vice president of government relations. She previously worked as an associate manager for international policy at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and as a professional staff member for the Committee under then-Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa). She earned her M.A. in International Trade and Investment Policy from The George Washington University and a B.A. in French and International Trade from Clemson University.
Michael Hawthorne, Tax Counsel
Michael joins the Committee from Squire Patton Boggs, where he was an associate in the Public Policy Practice Group working on issues involving tax and trade legislation. He previously served as a law clerk on the Senate Judiciary Committee under Ranking Member Grassley, the House Ways and Means Committee under Ranking Member Kevin Brady (R-Texas) and the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations under Chairman Rob Portman (R-Ohio). He received his J.D. and his B.A. in Political Science from The George Washington University.

Anna Rose Moore, Senior Health Policy Advisor
Anna Rose joins the Committee from the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions under Chairman Bill Cassidy (R-Louisiana), where she was a health policy advisor working on issues including commercial health insurance and pharmacy benefit manager reform. Anna Rose holds a M.P.H. and a B.S. in Public Health from Georgia Southern University.
