111th Congress: Action On Transportation
During the 111th Congress, I have agreed to co-sponsor the following selected measures which deal with our nation's transportation system. This is not a comprehensive list of all the legislation I have co-sponsored related to transportation. S. 308, a bill to amend title 23, United States Code, to improve economic opportunity and development in rural States through highway investment, and for other purposes. Introduced January 22, 2009.

S. 309, a bill to amend title 23, United States Code, to improve highway transportation in the United States, including rural and metropolitan areas. Introduced January 22, 2009.

S. 398, a bill to permit commercial vehicles at weights up to 129,000 pounds to use certain highways of the Interstate System in the State of Idaho which would provide significant savings in the transportation of goods throughout the United States, and for other purposes. Introduced February 9, 2009.

S. 452, A bill to ensure public access to Federal land and to the airspace over Federal land. Introduced February 23, 2009.

S. 461, a bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to extend and modify the railroad track maintenance credit. Introduced February 24, 2009.

Other actions I have taken to support Idaho's transportation system include:
- Advocated for funding for critical Idaho transportation projects in FY2010 budget.
- Joined with the Idaho congressional delegation regarding local efforts to improve transportation by sending a letter of support for a Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho (COMPASS) public transit system project. Click here to read a copy of the letter (PDF file; 88 KB).
