The U.S. Small Business Administration has six regional Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) located in Idaho. These centers can be found in Boise State University in Boise, North Idaho College in Post Falls, Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, Idaho State University in Pocatello and Idaho State University in Idaho Falls. Idaho SBDC assistance is available to anyone interested in starting or expanding a private small business in Idaho. While the definition of a small business varies depending on industry, 98% of all firms in the state of Idaho qualify as small businesses and therefore, are eligible for this program.
The SBDCs are available to hold workshops specifically for a Tribe if there is enough interest and participation by the community. There may also be grants or specific loan programs available for Native Americans who are interested in establishing their own business.
